The poems I write are
Words that I can’t say to you
Or you’d run away

Kaleidoscope Island

The lagoon was still as a mountain lake - blue of all shades and a shadowy green and purple (pg 4)
The palms that still stood made a green roof (pg 12)
The white surf flinked on a coral reef, and beyond that the open sea was dark blue (pg 10)
The shell was deep cream, touched here and there with fading pink (pg 16)

Their heads clustered above the trunks in the green shade; heads brown, fair, black, chestnut, sandy, moose coloured (pg 18)

The rock was a pink cliff surmounted by a skewed block (pg 26)
The many buds were waxen green and folded up against the light (pg 28)
The sun in the west was a drop of burning gold that slid nearer and nearer the sill of the world (pg 43)
